We currently collect and process the following information:

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

• When you contact us to enquire about one of the services we provide
• When you sign up to our mailing list.
• When you sign up for training courses
• When you work with us as a client or potential client 

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

• We obtain statistics from the usage of our website, and also from the social media channels we use to promote and engage people in our work.
• We obtain information from your organisation when we have been contracted to provide training or research that you are invited to participate in

We use the information that you have given us in order to 

• Improve the communications and marketing of our services
• Respond to your enquiries and/or deliver services to you.
• Monitor participation in training courses and research projects against protected characteristics and other aspects of equality and diversity

We do not share this information with any other organisations or individuals without first seeking your consent.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are: 

• Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting: dave.mckenna@publicgov.co.uk
• We have a contractual obligation to process your data, for example to organise your participation in training or to send you a report.

How we store your personal information 

• Your information is securely stored in cloud based files via either Dropbox or Google Drive. We use Convertkit for our mailouts. Due to the nature of your contact information, this is also held in our email systems.
• We keep contact information and website statistics for up to 3 years after we have stopped actively using them. We will then dispose of your information by deleting it from this database. 

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

• Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. 
• Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. 
• Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 
• Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 
• Your right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
• Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
• You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
